My wife and I are planning a trip to Myrtle Beach S.C. We are searching for information on unofficial nude beaches in that area. Where might i find such information other than the World Guide or the North American Guide to Nude Rec.?
We frequent the Outer Banks of North Carolina and have found several secluded areas. Our search for the Myrtle Beach area is a new interrest.

Tim/Denise, There are no longer any beaches in that area. The best recommendation I can make is visit either Whispering Pines in the Shallotte, NC or Coventry in Tabor City - both just over the SC/NC border from Myrtle Beach.

A "where to go nude in the world" web site shows an Otter Creek Beach on Lake Michigan in Michigan. Has anybody ever been there and/or can tell me something about it?

There are two kinds of nude beaches,the official and the unofficial in Australia as well.I don't know that much about unofficial as I often went to the official beaches only.Here's a link for Australian beaches hope it can help.

There are a few on Long Island NY. My favorite is Light House beach. Everyone looks out for each other's property. I couldn't make it this weekend but I hope tje next few months I can.

Otter Creek Beach is at the end of Esch Road near Empire MI. It is not designated a c/o beach. I have never seen anyone nude there and there aresigns posted all over stating that you must keep your suit on. Apperantly the park is cracking down on nudism there.

Two recommendations:
RED ROCK BEACH, Northern CA
About a half mile south of Stinson Beach. From Mill Valley, go north on Hwy-1. After a lot of twists and turns you will round a right hand curve. In the distance ahead of you will be your first full view of Stinson Beach, and immediately on the left will be a dirk parking lot. Park among the other cars. The trailhead to the beach is on the north end of the parking lot. At the bottom of the path, there is a small rock filled beach. There is two ways to get to Red Rock from there: At low tide you can walk around the jutting rocks, or if you go along the right side of the rocks, you'll find spaces to go through and not get wet. Very nice beach, usually has good sand through the summer and fall. A few gawkers, but harmless. Regulars like to play frisbee football. Dogs are frowned upon. No bathrooms.
EDWARDS CROSSING, Northern CA
On the South Fork of the Yuba River, north of Nevada City. From Auburn, CA, take Hwy-49 north to Nevada City. Stay on Hwy-49 at the 49/20 split (turning left to stay on 49). Turn right onto North Bloomfield Road. Pay close attention to street signs, and stay on North Bloomfield until the end of the road. You will find other cars parked there, and a green bridge with wooden planking. Cross the bridge, and take the trail on the left, following downstream. After maybe half mile, you'll come to Spring Creek, which is easy to cross. You're now in the nude use area. If you hike another 60 yards or so, you come to a spot on the river with a nice beach, and a huge beautiful clear pool.

BTW: The old "World Guide to Nude Beaches and Resorts" by Lee Baxandall is a great listing. It's out of print, but used copies can be found through Amazon.

If I am looking for a nudist beach, I generally head for a body of water of some kind. I go up and down the related beaches until I find naked people there. That's one way to find them, but I suppose a search engine or reading this website's messages would be much better.
