Speaking of Little Beach, when we were in Maui several years ago, I had told my wife about Big Beach and Little Beach. We went to Big Beach and it was HER idea to check out Little Beach! I followed her up over the cliff tha seperates the two beaches. At the top of the cliff, she paused and took pictures of the ocean and Big Beach. We then started down the path to Little Beach. When we got close enough to see naked bodies, she said, " Thats enough, we can go now". My heart droped. This had been HER idea and now she was backing out! We never got to the beach and went back to our cottage. Everyone of her friends that she tells this to are shocked that she didn't at least try it while she was there! Maybe she is changing now as I have said, she is spending more time nude around the house. We plan to go back in 9 years when I retire, maybe then she can enjoy what I do now

I guess I am just lucky. My wife loves Little Beach as much as I do. Try not to wait 9 years to go back there. Life is short; live it while you can...

I thought Little Beach would be perfect, with a mix of clothed and nude folk. I was wrong. My wife lasted about 10 minutes and was close to a panic attack, BEFORE clothes came off! So, the next time, we divided the beaches for a while. Sad, but what can you do.

Wow, a panic attack from Little Beach? I'm afraid you might want to reconsider a nudist lifestyle until you find out what is the cause of her anxiety. I suspect it is a bit more complicated than simple nudity. Just my 2 cents.

As a female naturist of many years, I do find some peoples attitude to nudism hard to understand and I don´t just mean other females as I have had men disappear rapidly when they have found out that I am a naturist with comments that they could never go naked, or of course, they promptly assume that you are up for sex. Certainly men are more open to nudism but there are some that have a similar attutude to a lot of women. I think some of the previous posters comments give real food for thought. Personally if at home or outside on my balcony I am always nude, also will use a nudist beach alone.

You are correct, Sunflower, I know at least two women whose husbands/boyfriends will not come to the nude beach with them, or if they do, they keep their suits on. But I do think that having a near panic attack from seeing nude people is very unusual.

Well I have done some more reserch on Nudists areas around us and I have found a campground that is c/o and has no pressure to get nude! Since we are avid campers, I have visited it and talked to the owner who reasured me that they have several families where one or the other stays clothed. I am going to try to get her to at least go for an afternoon and check it out. Maybe when she sees both at the campground, she might be more confortable about it and try it. I guess, I'll have to wait until summer. Bonesrmj

Be patient brother, Just think of it as taking Baby Steps.
She will come around in her own time, but that does sound like a good place to take one of those steps.
Good Luck.

Thanks Diger! I think if I can get her there it might answer some of her questionalbe doubts. She has a lot of confidence issues around her weight( you know all those people are skinny). Like you said baby steps for now.

Bones, if you camp in a tent, that might be enough incentive for her. I remember trying to change clothes in a small tent at a clothed state park. Damn, that is hard to do. The first time I tried it at a nude campground, I just went outside and changed; didn't have to worry about anyone seeing me. Lovely! (Must have been cold out; otherwise what was I changing clothes for at a nudist campground?)

For any individual, there are always pre-dispositions. Some folks are just not cut out to be nudists. I sometimes think that some of those people have a powerful sense of privacy and vulnerability. That could be regardless if they think they look great, like a Barbie or Ken doll, or not. Who looks like them anyway? Certainly not I.
The average person who is fine with him/herself is more likely to be a candidate for nudism. They're less likely to be phobic about the matter.
Conversely, I would think a person who feels very badly about him/herself, either physically or mentally, would be quite phobic about a nudist place.
As in any area of life, you are better off trying to win someone over to your way of thinking if you are dealing with someone who is not extreme in their social thinking. The folks in the middle of the textile/nudist spectrum are probably the most worthwhile trying to convince.
Not much use in trying to talk a person into nudism if they have no inhibitions in clothing or lack of it. Likewise, there may not be much use in trying to coax a phobic person into nudism. It's like trying to convince someone who has claustrophobia to enjoy being locked up in a hallway closet. Not going to happen.
So, target friends or loved ones, like a wife, if they are of moderate thinking in matters of nudity, but not yet convinced of becoming a nudist.
It also occured to me that women my feel more vulnerable than men when it comes to communal nudity. Once they find out they need not feel vulnerable, they enjoy being nude. Nope, not being sexist. I really wish more women would consider nudism. It would be nice if nudist resorts were more 50-50. I guess nudism has to be experienced to be appreciated - like people from Missouri -- gotta show me.
It is almost is self-defeating. A woman might need to know for a fact that she will be fine at a nudist place. She won't know that until she tries. That is where a loving husband can help to a great extent. He has to help her through that barrier of at least thinking seriously about nudism, and trying it at home. From there I suppose they could try skinnydipping at a secure place like a river, or lake, just to test how it feels away from home. It that works out nicely, they could try a nudist resort in the middle of the week.
I.e., gradualism works for the candidate who is at least wanting to try out nudism to see if it is right for them or not.

Hi all, we have had a breakthrough! Last year on the way to the Keys I aranged an over night at Breezier Palms on the way down. The wife seemed ok with it but she stayed mostly in our camp, a little time in the pool but that was all. This year I have booked a week at Cypress Cove, last week we were on a business trip to Orlando and played hooky one afternoon to drive down to the cove for a tour. She was impressed! Once back in the hotel she said I won't have to be embarased about my 60 yr old body after seeing all of those nude people!HORAY I am so looking forward to the end of March!

Congrats mj,
Keep us informed of how it's going.
It's such a great feeling when your spouse enjoys nudity with you.

If there was an easy solution to this, then all our wives would be naked all the time right? But majority of women avoid being nude due to their bodies how much they weigh etc. Until their mental state tells them it is no reason to be ashamed this will be a battle all us men will have to wage war against to get our wives to go nude with us.
