To aid in the education of nudism...for both my wife and myself. No nudism required. Asked for, but not required. I believe that a more personal experience would be benificial to us. (Sorry to sound like an an ad..but I have to ask)

Sorry about that.
Here's the thought...me new to nudism...her still coming around..hopefully, by the time the weather starts to warm backup we'll both be more comfortable and ready to get into the social aspect.
Starting off with a clothing optional party here at the house would be more comfortable and not such a shock as to turn her away. (I would think)
You guys and gals have much more experience than I, so any input is greatly appreciated.

The paths are many and varied; but the one often recommended - and which I practiced myself - is:
- Gradual increase of time spent nude at home by both parties as a couple/family. - Discussions about social nudity as being a natural "next step." - First try at social nudity; be it beach or resort, nude or C/O. - Development of a preference; i.e backyard, beach, resort (nude or C/O) or non-landed nudism (or several of those). - Development of friendships within the scope of established preference(s); i.e non-landed club friends, nude beach organization members, etc...
But as I've said, this is just one path. Some people start directly at social nudity, some people never make it past the backyard. It's often a totally "playing it by ear" game, where patience and persistence are often the keys to creating your nude world.
I hope my rather nebulous answer was of any help!

What's the vote on a spouses first social nudist experience being a C/O party at their own house? I'll be interested in the vote.

Other than simply showing up at a mandatory nude social event, I can't think of anything that would be more threatening to a non-naturist than a c/o party at one's own home.

I think you're putting the cart before the horse. In my opinion, you should focus on your wife being completely comfortable with nudity. Next, a weekend stay at a club, resort or Clothing Optional B & B to socialize with another couple in that environment. Then, when she's comfortable with that ... consider a clothing optional gathering at your home. I think it can be a little tense for someone who is "still coming around" to nudism ... to host a clothing optional gathering at her home, who is not completely "come around" to nudism.
Go slow and easy. The patience will reward you 10 fold.

Our opinion, My wife and I have lived the nudist way of life for many years. That being said we vote NO on a c/o party. If all present are not of like mind you and your wife and the invited guests will be uncomfortable. We suggest that you and your wife become more relaxed being nude at home then venture into more social venues. Best of luck on your journey.

I agree with renter. In our case Mrs steady is only feeling comfortable with nude holidays and I don't think she could be comfortable jumping straight into a house full of naked people. Smaller steps are better in my opinion. I'd suggest a dinner date with another couple at their home and then maybe one at you home. Smaller group would be less intimidating. Then maybe try a nude party at someone elses home before having a larger nude group at your home.

As I suspected 804. Although a small voter turnout, a 4-0...make that 5-0 with my vote, says having a C/O party for your wife's first social nudist venture is officially a bad idea.
See suggestions above...all good ones.

Agreed MrsAzLagoon..and thanks to all for the advice.
After seeing your thoughts and thinking about it..bringing something like that, too soon, into our home could have a negative impact.
I've been trying patience, had a step forward, and got a little excited. Everyone's advice has been greatly appreciated!!
Special thanks to MrsAzLagoon for putting the vote idea into play..I never would have thought of that.

yeah doesn't sound like a good idea especially if she suddenly gets uncomfortable, how do you dispose of a bunch of naked people in your house. better to look for a travel club having a get together at a members house or maybe a swim meet at a y or spa used for a nudist gathering than if she gets uncomfortable you can leave.

The people have spoken, and the C/O house party idea has been soundly defeated, and for good reason.
But now something else is bothering me, and I have a question for 804Fordman: If you're both new to nudism, and you were seriously thinking of hosting a clothing optional party at your home, just who were you planning to invite?
Maybe it's churlish of me, but this doesn't quite ring true.

Good point, Doc!
And yes, a CO party at home is a non-starter. IMO, the best place is a club or beach far from home, that way she'll have no fear that she'll run into someone from work, school, church, etc. Being nude in front of nude strangers is always more comfortable...
