guycass... You make a good point about "forgive and forget". That said, it is also a good thing for each of us to try to be more considerate of others in our behavior.

well yeah thats disrespecfull to urinate on the seat while the seat is down but i do not speak for all gentlemen i usually put the seat down in consideration for my girlie girl but when the moment happens when i do forget there s no problem if it happens to be a problem in your house hold where a fella happens to urinate with the seat down then that is disrespectfull especially if it s in your house hold but if you re in an area in which you have no authority than it s the public you re dealing with and the public doesn t really care ie. it all depends on where one is at i believe
if i m in another s home than yes it is my responsibillity as a gentleman to place the seatdown but if im in a batchelors home than i guess it all depends on the owner or if females are present...... to be honest there are people loosing there lives over seas and ....were discussing toilet seats
sorry....

It's not a conscious decision we make every time we use a toilet (private/public or family/friend)we either do it or don't. those that don't should be more considerate.

Its all learning to live together. If you live with a woman then you are considerate of her and leave the toilet lid down. The woman should also be considerate of the man and not leave her unmentionables laying around.

Kim, nicely stated. Compromise is always a good philosophy too.

With a happy couple, that's the way it is with everything, not just toilet lids!

I think there is one more important factor to consider besides the seat. Guys need to learn how to aim.

Living in a household of 3 the other 2 being male and one of them being under the age of 6 I always look before I sit. Also we never put the lid down with a little one they are often in a hurry and do not have time to raise the lid.

I remember reading that flushing the toilet creates an aerosole; with the lid up, that aerosole spreads into the rest of the room. The recommendation was not to store your toothbrushes and drinking cup nearby if you leave the seat up when flushing. No. I'm not kidding. It was a serious discussion.

Hey guys, look at the bowel after peeing (with the lid up).

Aerosole action doesn't remove the yellow splats. Guys, lets get serious, we owe a little to our women if we insist on standing. So sit down and pee or otherwise, pick up the lid, stand and pee and then clean up the splatters on the rim.

chic,
I don't mean to correct you, but you mean bowl. The bowel is inside you.

StuffedTiger,
I've heard that too. Sounds like putting both the seat and the lid down is a good idea.

Randy, your're a dandy !

I stand corrected and appreciate your comment.

You must have been an English Major and I accept your correction, sir! I am a graduate in the Arts, but my failing has always been in spelling, but much more embarressingly has been my mis-use of proper English grammer. So, please bear with me. I welcome any and all advice to help me to correct me in my use of the proper use of the "Kings" language.
