I have noticed the 'Active Nudist' (ie ones with kids who run around after them all day' get Stand Lines, instead of Tan Lines. Women and men have pale areas under thier breasts (Ok so I have man boobs ;), under thier butts, and some other areas. We usualy dont have time to lay in the sun and tan. I am thinking of doing the tan in a bottle thing this year. Anyone have a good one to try?

Folks I remember the first (and so far only) time I used a tanning bed, and I came out looking like a candy-striper -- or maybe a convict in one of those old-fashioned striped outfits! Looked weird and itched weird too. My friends got a good laugh out of it, though. It's tough when you're a nudist and you burn easily. My wife tans, I burn. Life ain't fair!

Luckily my kids are old enough that I don't have to chase after them. I even up my tan, spen time in all different positions. I have heard a lot of scary things about tanning booths, so I stay away from them. I know of one brand of "tan in the bottle", Coppertone, but I have never used it. I have always prefered to get my tan the old fashion way.

I have never tried the tanning rooms or the tan in the bottle. I still go for the traditional way-out in the sun.

Tanning rooms are very dangerous for fair(very light skinned) people like myself. I agree with Irishred to do it naturely with the help of sun block.

I enjoy tanning naturally, just a little at a time, over a period of time. Love the feeling of laying out side nude, feeling the sun and air on my body. Best way to tan.

When my ex and I were first separated I went several times to a tanning salon, hoping to improve my looks and 'get back in the game' (mid-life crisis stuff). I itched so bad the first night that it kept me awake till morning. It was torture. Nevertheless, the power of vanity and wishful thinking prevailed, and I went for another dose. Same results. (My hair is auburn, but I was born a redhead, which gives you a clue about what I was up against). Understandably, I haven't repeated that mistake. (However, gradual exposure to the bonafide sun, and ample amounts of sunscreen, seems to produce the desired result). Here's to nature.

Unfortunately, I still will have a slight two tone look even at the end of the summer. I'm outside a lot in the summer but I don't get to tan regularly at the nude beach.

Irishred, I hear ya there. I ALWAYS have a farmers tan goin on my chest and arms, and my legs from knees down are browner then the rest of me aswell.
Its all the t-shrit and shorts wearing all year long that does it for me :( Wish I could be nude all year long in the sun instead.

You could be alergic to the sanitizer they use between sessions.

I wouldn't have beleived it, but they had a feature on our local news the other day that said that you can pick up things, most notably some STDs from tanning beds that are not cleaned with a sanitizer between each use. They also said that Bloomington is the only city in Minnesota that does regular inspections. That's good news for me, although I rarely use them. I only go to them in the middle of the winter, in preparation for a trip to a sunny place.
