Clearing the cookies from this site and logging back in usually fixes that sort of trouble.

ok, I will give that a try. I noticed that the reason its doing that is when I get there, it sets the time of my last logon to just a moment ago

Not only is this site really getting bogged down in terms of speed of downloads, there's been a growing tendency lately that is especially irritating. After I log on, I'll see that there are, say, 12 active topics since my last visit. After I click on one of the new topics and read it, I am unable to go back and see what the active topics were. Instead I am told that there are NO active topics. Maybe it's just a peculiarity of the Safari browser, or maybe it's a forum site problem. But I surely wish it would go away.

I open each topic that is "active" in a new tab so that the original "active" list remains.

I've been having the same problem lately. Thanks for the 'new tab' hint. Won't solve the underlying problem but will work around it.

I've had to delete cookies for nudist-resorts.org to clear up problems like that before. I'd be interested to know if that helps you guys with this problem.

If for some reason the server can't read the correct cookie from NRO, it wouldn't know how long you've been away to build the Active Topics page.

Admin, Today and for the past few days, I have clicked on the "12 new topics" and when it came up, it said "no active topics." It apparently timed out so I get to click on "since yesterday" to see what active topics are truly there.

I got on blistering fast tonight after several days of slowness and alerts that Safari can't find this server, even when moving between screens on this site. As with Cheri and others, although there were 15 new topics since my last visit, after viewing the first one, then there were no new topics. Had to go back to 'yesterday' to get the list.

Regardless, sure enjoy the website!

Having the same issue with clicking on new active topics and then the screen indicates there are no new topics found. I can click on all forums, open a subject that is new and then when I go back to the all forum list there is a notice that says I have active topics. Clicking on active topcis again lets me in the actie topics list. Hope this helps in identifying the issue.

Echoing and summing up....

1. The server appears to be slower and slower. I wonder whether there is malware on the server side. Might be worth a scan.
2. With increasing frequency, the "click to login" step produces a database failure and a message is received regarding the JET engine.
3. I too encounter the "no active topics message with considerable frequency"
4. Clicking into PM is also very slow to recover/retrieve messages.

NaturistDoc--it's not Safari. I have tried Explorer, Firefox and Safari...all produce the same issues. We are seeing server-side slowdown, I am reasonable certain.

As others have suggested, the underlying database and query engine seems quite old.

I definitely suspect maleware. Wether using a PowerMac with Safari in California or a Gateway PC with Firefox or Explorer in Florida, I encounter very slow downloads or sometimes a cannot connect with server. The cable/internet service at - - resort has encountered occasional blips but this problem extends to Time/Warner in Orange County, California suggested it is a server problem at your end.

When I sent the Administrator a PM regarding a telephone conversation with Steve Dorsey I was logged-off and there was no message sent recorded.

Sometimes get No active topics when I log on.
