"By the way, Cinderela, I see you have been creative again--a new avatar. Very nice! :)"
Thanks irishred, my cousin made it for me, as I said to calmnude, he's the artistic one in the family. It's an old picture of me after getting dunked in the lake. I didn't want to go in, but god help me I socialize with people who love pulling pranks and in I went. As for the girl's tummy and breastesses I have nothing to say other than I wish I looked like that:(
oh and, Massai excellently done :)
*chuckle* thanks to my cousin for the amazingly artistic avatar :)

You said it better than I could have...and I agree with you logic and argument. Chuck

Jeez folks I didn't realize so many people were offended by seeing an erection. Should women with erect nipples also run away to a secluded area or hide under a towel? Also a few of the comments mention "controlling erections" well quite frankly I wish I had the ability to simply turn on or off the hard switch but often it just happens and sometimes doesn't. What about the opposite, should we be complaining about shrinkage due to cold water. I'm willing to bet that if one takes any large group of males be they on a nude beach or dressed in a suit and tie, a certain percentage will have erections. It never ceases to amaze me that Americans have such hangups regarding a natural process, on a European nude beach the only thing one would hear regarding seeing an erection is "he looks happy", but then the Puritans did start this country and their legacy lives on. As for myself, yes I have had an erection while at the beach and I also had my penis shrink from the cold so take the big and the small, add them together divide by 2 and guess what, I'm just your average guy! No offense meant to anyone.

Maybe I should summarize the reasons this thread was started (and the key points that have been derived thus far); just in case some readers find themselves lost in my previously excessive verbiage.
a) The male genital is a highly sensitive organ (high neural density) -Exogenous or endogenous factors, unpredictable and uncontrollable in nature, can trip the genital sensory, and often "fool" it, into an erection. -Regardless of whether the sensory is tripped or tricked the erections do elicit a sensual feeling to the bearer (involving the endogenous opiate system). However, let it be known that they are not necessarily directed at the other nude members (it is sensual but doesn't necessarily have a target. It could start internally as a random fleeting sexual thought of something that my wife whispered to me last night. Or it could start externally by a subtle change in ambient temperature tripping the sensory) -Due to the randomness/unpredictabmty of the factors, it is not practical for a male having to cover at every instance; because then a bathing-suit solution would be far more practical.
b) Yes, an erection may have sexual connotation. -Nonetheless, it should *not* matter to a nudist (provided we truly seek to achieve full integration/acceptance of nature, human nature, and all its processes) . In a highly advanced, logical, mature and disciplined race, an aroused male should be trusted to be in full self-control (something that a homo-sapiens male cannot guarantee at the present snapshot of our evolutional history)
c) There are two sources of hindrance towards progress in this issue: 1) A percentage of immature (post-simian) males that would cause "spontaneous raping activities" if they were given the liberty to openly show their erection. 2) A percentage of immature people (male+female, nudist or not) that have a psychological/pathological aversion to any, and all, images of erect organs. These people will frown (or feel funny) upon the image of an erect male organ; even if it is of an ancient statue (or a picture of an ancient statue).
In realization/consideration of the above, I chose not to pursue this issue any further.

Hello All From Robbie of hAWAII,
DO NOT WORRY ANOUT IT. WHEN U GO UNCLOTHED IT REALLY JUST SEEMS NATURAL BEING AMONG GOOD FRIENDS AND COMPANY THAT YOU REALLY DON'T GET THAT WAY SEXUALLY. IT JUST SEEMS THE SAME AS IF U HAD CLOTHES ON AMONG FELLOW NATURISTS/NUDISTS. THIS IS MY OPINION ON HOW I FEEL. MANY THANKS---ROBBIE.

Sounds like are you being hard on yourself. When we are nude, we are all beautiful, irrespective of how we look or our body shapes. Plus, one's inner beauty is more important. Be yourself and continue to enjoy life and being nude!!

Malenudemodel,
You hit it bang on. Thank you for your contribution to this thread. Erections are a natural and normal part of life for men and women. They should be as excepted in the naturist community as nudity is. Unfortunately some naturists are not as mature and either abuse erections (the pathetic gwakers and molesters) or feel that all men with erections are perverts. Thank you again nudemalemodel. I hope that the greater community will one day realize the error of shunning or hiding normal erections.

Greetings! Erections are a very normal part of being a male. Erections are fine as long as they are hands off and not flaunted about. Children need to be taken into account also. Erections are not always a sexual reaction, if it is not a sexual reaction then is a normal part of humanity. Again, just hands off and it will eventually go away. Personally I find a man with a partial erection looks fine. Gordon

I must say that this topic of erection apears in many forums of naturist/nudist but none of them dealt with this "problem" as nice and intelectually as here.nice way of thinking. but nevertheless we are human beings with basic instincts and in the first minute we react, maybe some of us not according to this theaory.it may take a few seconds or minutes to overcome the sight we have before us and act wisely. we have to bare in our mind that the erection may embarese not only the viewers but mainly the man who have this erection.

What a great way of explaining this! Wished I had thought of this!

When I have talked with people about joining us in nudist events, usually the first thing to pop up is the erection. (No pun intended) Guys are afraid they will get an erection. I am not offended by an erection, but it must be embarrassing for men. My hubby occasionally gets an erection in public and so do my sons. Evidently and erection can just happen and not necessarily becaused by something sexual. At clubs I have seen men get erections, and cover themselves up, or get into the water. Proper response from me is to pretend nothing has happened, an erection is a natural body function for a man. Non nudists have a hard time understanding us. Some non nudists think that we have orgies and are child molestors, and therefore want to shut the clubs down. By having the unwritten rule that men do not sport erections, gives us the atmosphere of policing our comunity, and gives of some credibility. Just my thoughts.

I remember the first time I went to Gunnison beach. I was sure I would be sporting an erection and guess what...no such event. Only last year did I have an erection on the beach. I was enjoying my lunch and lo behold there it was. Like we men have said for a millenium, it has a mind of it's own. It gave itself a even tan for about five minutes then went away. Many people were there, saw it and said nothing. It comes, it goes and it can't be predicted or prevented. I go to the beach to forget my worries. That includes not worrying about if my penis stands up for a moment.

Maybe if more men went nude beaches and clubs, there would be less money spent on viagra.
