This should be a new national fitness program: Be Nat'ril. Statistics say that 2/3rds of all Americans are either overweight or obese. Imagine the motivation of nudity to shed some of those pounds.(NOT that body acceptance doesn't include additional weight, but it would be a incentive. People usually think in terms of being able to get into those fashionable or skimpy clothes again. How about gettin' into nuttin'!

Thats the best part about being a nudist full time. No need to buy a different wardrobe everytime you loose weight :)

I think your right justmerob. I have noticed at a couple of clubs we have been to, that there is a group of people that tend to just sit, watch everyone else, and drink beer. You never see them swimming or playing volleyball. These people tend to be over weight.

I am overweight, but I am one of the more active ones @ the resorts. Maybe its because I have to chase after my lil ones alla time . When I go by myself I swim, play water vollyball, hike, play pool, sit in the hottub, etc. I'm not a tanner unless I have a good book and kids are at thier grandparents or somethin :)

i am not one to stay comatose. go to resorts/camps/nude swimming areas to unwind and it takes a day or so to totally decompress/

I used to be, I confess, a bit disdainful of the idea of running for physical fitness. But a few years ago I started doing it to lose a little weight and help my cholesterol level, and along with a better diet, it worked just as advertised. Now, I actually crave my runs and exercise. It's so much fun to get out in the open air and run.
I've been able to do a nude run at a Florida resort we once visited called Sunburst, down in the panhandle. Very nice place. I wish I could run nude all the time, but since there aren't any nude running tracks around here, I settle for running in just shorts (no underwear) when the weather's warm enough.
I can't stay comatose either. I think I'd go nuts from the inactivity. There's a climbing wall at the local YMCA. I'd love to climb that nude!

Tell me about it Kim! I have lost weight since having kids, oh and lost even more weight living as a single parent with one income to support us instead of two
I often imagine sleeping @ the resorts if I was without kids, but everytime I have gone with no lil ones I never do. Not used to it :) Plus I sit all the time @ work, I want to be up and doing things when I am not there

USA, Obesity and an Opportunity
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP, still called the CDC by most of us) has upped the visibility and priority following a report in the Journal of the American Medical Association that cites obesity as the new leading cause of preventable death--eclipsing smoking.
It seems to me that nudists have an opportunity here. Most clothes are designed for most people to camouflage body fat. Whatever the present state of their health, nudists make no attempt at such camouflage. Such is the nature of body acceptance.
Acceptance--acknowledgement, if you will--is a necessary first step towards change. Comments from others in this thread have extolled the value and pleasures of exercise and healthier lifestyles. It seems to me that there is an opportunity for nudists to take a leadership position in this area.
Just a thought.

I think your right pilot. I remember back in the old days when I would buy a swim suit, I would buy one that would compliment my figure. I think the nudist lifstyle encourages people to be more healthy, and try to look nice at the same time.

thats right. you dont want to look like a sumo wrestler of jabba the hut when you go to nude recreation places. but there are some people who have tried all their lives to lose weight, but because of medical problems have difficulty.
they deserve to enjoy too.

I agree Calmnude. We don't want to promote weight loss while making a Big (no pun intended) portion of the naturist community feel bad about themselves. Naturism to me is body acceptance, not trying to make everyone fit into the cookie cutter shape.

Body acceptance is what it's all about!!! Most nudists could care less what the shape, size or color of the person next to them is. Just being nude with others is great!
But I have to admit that we really get motivated when the warmer months approach. Knowing that we're going to be wearing less or nothing is always motivation to try to look your best. Pubic hair and all. :)
