I think that's smart Kimberly, starting with small doses of sun, that is...On my trip to the southwest I got a sunburn even though I had sunblock on. It was one of those lovely looking cyclist's sunburn...Still glowing white except my head and neck, halfway up my upper arms, and to the mid-thigh level were reddened...Purdy sexy, eh??

Lol Bicycleracer, thats what they call a redneck suntan. We had to be extra careful when we went to the carribean. I used a lot of sun block and limited my exposure. Worst thing you can do on a holiday, get sunburned and be miserable the rest of the trip.

I'm with ya' calmnude, sunscreen/block is a necessity. Are you still having tornado warnings? I'm heading down to Freeport, TX this weekend for some scuba diving. I'd be my luck to have a dang tornado. But we're heading out to the edge of the continental shelf and so hopefully will miss it...Kim, I call it a redneck tan too, hence the 'Purdy sexy, eh?'...<laughing> p.s. Wha's your sign, hunneypot?.....Just KIDDING!!!!!

This Scorpion was truly just messing around..I shoulda' prefaced the redneck question with a description of how I sidled up to the bar and tipped the front of my ten gallon stetson before asking...

Kim,
Your right, a little at a time.
When we were leaving the beach in St Martin a few weeks ago, we saw a number of younger people who were as red as lobsters. No question in our minds that they had a couple of tough days of recovery ahead of them as a result of their foolishness.

Experience is a good teacher Chic. After i had gone nude outside the first couple of times, I stayed to long, and got burned. I learned after that to take better care of my body. I have seen people get red as lobsters too, Oh the pain!

I'm in agreement that sunscreen is a must. But what about those areas that are usually covered by a bathing suit? I can't imagine just reaching over and covering them with sunscreen in front of people. Do most people do those parts in private or something? I've heard they burn pretty bad if it's your first time exposing those parts to the sun and there is no sunscreen on them.

Take it from me Melissa, my nipples burned and peeled. Talk about pain! You can descretly apply the sun block with out making a big show of it. If you feel more comfortable doing it private, then do so.

I, for one, apply sunblock privately...Hey! Am I getting the hang of not being too 'wordy'?

Melissa, The best time to apply sunscreen is an hr. or two before you expect to be in the sun or before you leave home to wherever.
I just ordered an interesting lotion applicator. It looks like a long-handled back brush but has a place for the lotion. It'll be interesting to see if it actually works. :)
Hugs, mom ============== Bikeracer, I knew you could do it. :)

You just apply the sunscreen to your private areas just the same as you apply it to anywhere else. It's no different than taking a shower in a public shower. Just give these areas the same amount of attention as anywhere else on your body and there's nothing inappropriate.

I usually start as a "cottontail". lol
I apply sunscreen often when at the beach, especially when I come out of the water. I put it on all body parts. I definately don't want sunburn (ouch Kim your nipples).
There is a natural way to apply it to private parts. You simply just put it on. The majority of sunbathers do it that way. I have seen some at the beach apply it to their partner in a more sexual way--as if they are massaging their partner. That is not encouraged.
